what is specific knowledge in the first place?
programming and sales are forms of specific knowledge.
I have seen some people who are very logical at programming and very good at making good decisions for their startups. programming is their true passion when you gonna meet someone like them it’s energy when explaining any topic on another level you just know they are amazing and you wanna talk more to them. they are really good at what they do.
that is a form of specific knowledge.
this is obvious that they learned somewhere, but they did ’t learn this from the classroom. for example, in sales, they might learn how to deal with people in their childhood. they might get this as a gift from their parents.
anyone in the world can learn how to code great products or how to get good at sales.
you can be a self-taught programmer which I’m and I’m proud of it.
when I talk about specific knowledge I mean figure out what you were doing as a kid or as a teenager effortlessly [naval].
something you didn’t even consider a skill but people around you noticed.
example of specific knowledge:[naval book]
sales
musical talent
an obsessive personality
love for science fiction
playing a lot of games you will understand game theory pretty well
coding and digging to source code
no one can compete with you on being you.
most of life is a search for who and what you need the most.
for example, some years back I was into coding when I was at school people around me notice me building some apps and websites. they told me that you have a very rare skill and to me, this was not even a skillset I consider this a s video game where I’m the player and I’m controlling everything in it. whether is building a new game or building or designing a new product. it excites me so much when I build something.
I learn very quickly and I get bored of it fast. this is good in tech(for me ). you are living in the 20th century where things changed with the help of technology very very fast. you have to learn how to learn a particular skill very fast and you will be rewarded for it.
if you want to stand out learn how can you learn so fast than the people around you.
if society can teach you it can teach anybody. you are replaceable.
but with applied specific knowledge you become irreplaceable because you know something that society does not know yet. you know how to solve a particular problem that society does not know how to solve yet and you will get paid higher for that.
specific knowledge is found much more by perusing your innate talents. your genuine curiosity and your passion. it’s not by going to school for whatever the hottest job. it’s not by going into whatever field your parents say is the hottest.
